Exquisite Corpses (2022)

Design Studio / ⤷ Studio Ossidiana

Based on aesthetics of buildings present in Oosterwold small elemental models were created. These elements represented reoccurring or especially striking buildings and through that the person or people behind the building. Oosterwold as an architectural playground allows people to express themselves through their house and people place a lot of value on the appearance of their house.

Models on Table

Mental Maps based on Kevin Lynch's method from "The Image of the City" (1960)

Most notably: the mushroom house, an English pony farm, a light house, nordic a-frames, cheese houses, tree houses, camper vans and tents. Speculating on the future development of the place and the community behind these buildings a playset was developed to assemble and reassemble neighbourhoods based on these reocurring aesthetic elements in order to possibly gain insight into the future of Oosterwold and at the very least transporting a critical view of the not so individual individuals of the Freeland.

The project was exhibited at the Land Art Flevoland Festival 2022 -->.
